For many years, Koreen Odiney, a model and artist from LA, photographed and interviewed people using some of the questions featured now on these cards. She didn’t have a name for it at the time, but she already knew that she wanted to explore the art of asking the right questions to create connections.
One day she was walking to her car after a modelling job and saw a man reading poetry. She approached him to ask to photograph and interview him. At the end of their talk, he told her that one day she would write a book called We’re Not Really Strangers.
The game was originally created to spark meaningful conversations among strangers but evolved into one of the best conversational tool kits for strangers, lovers, family members and friends alike. It even helps you find that inner conversation you maybe didn’t even know you really needed.
Quarantine or not, these days are so complicated that it’s ok if you feel like a mess. Boredom, worries, fears, loneliness, not getting along with the ones you share your life with, or even not really feeling that great about yourself… all of those feelings are legit and just need to be brought out in the open and talked about. This game is the perfect thing to get through all this madness with a bit more sanity. Imagine a mix of a conversation with your wisest friend and a really cool therapist. Interesting, right?
This game will help you think about things and reveal feelings you might otherwise keep hidden. It will stir up love, compassion, understanding and so much more.
It will help you find your way through a conversation or find the courage to start one. You will feel your subconscious and symbolic walls breaking down and start to find something meaningful. You will feel yourself growing closer to your loved ones both far away and sheltered with you.
The ultimate goal of this nourishing game is connection, with yourself and with others. You will see so many things in such different light that you will enter a new inner dimension.
This simple and elegant box of soulful advice might just change our lives and make us all fell less alone.
We think that’s worth a shot. Don’t you?
