STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM SETS UP SHOP IN LONDON

July 15, 2021

STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM, a romantic, fairy tale like brand, born in England but founded by a Spanish mother of one, has settled itself in the heart of London, in a beautiful pop up shop in Marylebone, until January 2022.

Strawberries & cream is the stuff that little girls dream of – not to mention their mummies, aunties, and grannies.
Designer and founder, Ingrid Lewis is always at the shop where you can see her crafting her exclusive designs at 78 Wigmore Street. Ingrid can even customise your purchases or create bespoke pieces for your little ones.

Strawberries & Cream celebrates the traditional and magical but with a modern eye. Think exquisite embroideries; hand-stitched smocking; delicate, cosseting artisan fabrics, gossamer tulle and exclusive lace trims. All the fabrics have been sourced from traditional mills across Europe, and all garments are designed, sewn and hand-finished in London with the tender attention of a true fairy godmother.

78 Wigmore Street reimagines the possibilities of luxury retail to offer something completely fresh. Not just a shop, it offers customers an intimate experience that celebrates the process of making gorgeous things. Ingrid and her team can be found there sketching, cutting patterns and fabric.

They have beautiful items, ready to go, and a carefully considered selection of toys, books and shoes from the exquisite brand PAPOUELLI. But if you want something made for you quickly, or adapted, or simply an embroidered cushion, you can pick out the thread and choose the words.

The brand was born of love and passion, an act of hope amid the darkness of 2020. After decades as creative lead for top fashion brands, Ingrid wanted to harness her extraordinary range of expertise to create something deeply personal, infused by the memory of the clothes that her mother, grandmother and aunties used to make for her.

She conceived and made her first capsule collection for Christmas in her shed in Hampstead Heath, with her mother pleating and embroidering at the kitchen table. The first collection followed in February. Today the bewitching range includes unisex babywear up to 24 months, as well as blouses, skirts, tutus, playsuits, swimwear, bloomers, capes, bibs, Scottish cashmere, embroidered cushions, and nappy changing kits. And of course dresses (up to six years) that girls will never want to grow out of.
