“Once Upon a Time…” a sentence we heard so often as kids while staring up at the ceiling at night. Well, now it’s our turn to say it! It’s our turn to celebrate books and make our kids fall in love with reading!
And because today is World Book Day and we know getting those little ones to fall asleep can be a real struggle, we rounded up some books suggestions to help make sleeping a little bit easier:
Age 0-2
Goodnight everyone, Shh!, A Bil Lost, Oh No, George! and Don’t Worry, Little Crab by Chris Haughton
A lovely collection of fables for the little ones to start a connection with animals and their capacity to communicate with their jokes and sense of humanity.
Age 2-5
I Want My Hat Back by Jon Klassen
A naïve bear and his red hat will bring the laughs of the kids. Fables are the best for the little ones to start creating a sense of emotions with this funny yet sensitive story.
Age 6-8
Me and my Fear by Francesca Sanna
A story about a young immigrant and her fear, that takes the shape of an imaginary friend growing everyday alongside her and making her feel alone, questioning herself and her situation. But this little girl is stronger than her fear!
Age 9-11
For the “bigger” ones we suggest a book with a touch of lightness and a new perspective on how books can be. This author from South Korea drives us on a journey where the imaginary meets the rational side. Even adults will submerse in this story with their kids.
All these books will certainly be a good choice to start the kid’s little library,
introducing their taste for reading with these fantastic “Once Upon a Time…” stories!
