Boss Mum went to Ohai Nazaré

April 6, 2021

There is a historic area in the centre of Portugal, where the blues of the sea and the greens of the trees mix with the colours of the city and the different cultural attractions, called Nazaré.

If there is to be even just one reason to travel to Nazaré, this is undoubtedly the set of beaches that make up its vast coastline. Nazaré is the place to go for the most fearless of surfing.  With waves reaching over 20 meters, the sea definitely challenges the skills of even the most courageous surfers. In August 2012 the record-breaking wave reached 33 meters.

In November 2011 Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara surfed a wave that reached 23.8 meters in height. For his part, surfer Carlos Burle faced what, according to studies, is the highest registered wave ever recorded at over 30 meters in height.

But it is also a highly recommended place if you are travelling with kids. There are many charming little towns, beaches, forests and activities where both, small ones and grown ups, can have a lot of fun.

This is a magic place, oriented towards the Atlantic Ocean, with unique natural landscapes keeping you in contact with nature, beaches, culture and surfing while disconnecting yourself from the rest of the world.

Our Boss Mum, Bárbara Perino, and her family stayed at Ohai Nazaré, an open-air resort located just minutes from Nazaré in the heart of Leiria National Park, the largest ecological pine forest reserve in the Iberian Peninsula. There you can find bungalows, the perfect glamping experience, and apartments to enjoy together with family or friends in the middle of nature, but with all the amenities of a resort.

They had endless fun, but also managed to unwind and enjoy some precious quiet and chilled out moments. Yes, it is all possible there! They were able to relax in the sun loungers on the balcony of their glamping site, but also had a lot of fun with the little ones in the playground and in their super cool pool!

It was an amazing weekend for them, and it will surely be for you too. Go check out ohairesorts.com/nazareand just remember to disconnect to connect ☺
