While we think of drinking cocktails as more of an adult thing, kids are also entitled to have some fun and there are a few cocktail classics that even they can enjoy. Here we present seven fresh suggestions (with no alcohol, of course) that the whole family will love!
SHIRLEY TEMPLE
Ingredients:
1 ginger ale;
2 tablespoons grenadine;
4 maraschino cherries;
Crushed ice to taste;
Mint leaves for garnish.
Method:
Mix the ginger ale and grenadine in a glass. Add the cherries and crushed ice and garnish with mint leaves.
MOJITO
Ingredients:
8 mint leaves;
½ lemon;
1 bottle of sparkling water;
Sugar to taste;
Ice to taste.
Method:
Put the lemon, mint and sugar in a tall glass. Crush everything together until all the juice from the lemon has been extracted. Add ice and fill the glass with sparkling water. Stir and enjoy!
SPRITZ
Ingredients:
300 grams strawberries;
2 tablespoons honey;
2 cups mandarin juice;
1 litre sparkling water;
Mandarin peel without the pith;
6 chopped strawberries.
Method:
Purée the strawberries and honey in a blender. Add the mandarin juice and cold sparkling water. Garnish with mandarin peel and chopped strawberries and serve.
PIÑA COLADA
Ingredients:
120 ml coconut milk;
120 ml pineapple juice;
Ice to taste;
2 slices of pineapple for garnish.
Method:
Mix the coconut milk, ice and pineapple juice in a blender into a creamy texture. Pour the mixture into glasses and garnish with the pineapple slices.
COSMOPOLITAN
Ingredients:
50 ml cranberry juice;
50 ml coconut water;
30 ml lemon juice;
30 ml orange juice;
Cherries for garnish.
Method:
Mix everything well, pour into cocktail glasses and garnish with a cherry.
CAIPIRINHA
Ingredients:
1 lemon;
1 teaspoon brown sugar;
Sparkling water;
Ice.
Method:
Cut the lemon into four parts and crush in an old-fashioned glass. Then add the sugar and fill the rest of the glass with ice and sparkling water.
FROZEN MIMOSA
Ingredients:
2 ½ cups orange juice;
½ cup sparkling water;
Orange rings for garnish.
Method:
Fill an ice cube tray with two cups of orange juice and freeze until solid. Add the ice cubes, the remaining half cup of orange juice and the sparkling water to a blender and mix everything to a smooth consistency. Serve in tall glasses garnished with orange slices.
